jeeping in the clouds
i took the rubicon into what i consider high altitude (10,979 feet) today and
was really pleased with its performance all the way around (handling, pulling grades, etc.). i know there are higher places, but after spending over 30 years at 85 feet elevation this was a pretty big deal to me. see http://tinyurl.com/3bgzf for pics and description. |

Awsome. Last summer, I took my stock Rubi up over 13k feet in the San
Juan mtns in CO. This year it's lifted and I'll be back there next week. Sounds like fun. Maybe I'll pass you on the road. I need to head down to
Durango sometime this week or next. I NEED to do some camping...... Glad you're enjoying life at high altitude nate, now you'll probably spend all your free time elk hunting and fishing, instead of surfing. If you ever get down into CO you'll have to look me up. Seems like newer vehicles do fine up here even when coming from sea-level. I remember vacationing out here from WI as a kid, and my parents wagoneer, and dodge diplomat always had vapor locking problems when we got up high.
