Private for those that don't use their brains. Usually, a Piper Cub,

something with the Jolly Roger painted on the tail and a scurvy dog at
the controls.

have almost a 1600 pound usable load.

Yes, it's commonly used for trips just like this one from La Paz,
only this one made customs in San Diego, rather than flying under the
radar for a touch and go.
