Thanks, I copied that for future reference, but it looks like it
was taken out side the war years, no white star on it to keep us from
strafing it. I'll keep looking but not today.

I didn't say we (USA) captured it. I think it is german photo of a captured
jeep, not a captured kuebelwagen.
The gerries should have covered over the stars so they don't get shot at by
their own troops.
This was very common in the ETO, North Africa, and the Pacific with the
japanese using as many jeeps as they could get.
