Installing Ford serpentine belts, I just pull it over the last
pulley, the power steering pump by hand, it easily collapses the belt
tensioner spring.

Just had mine off my 2000 this weekend. It uses a spring loaded
tensioner arm/pulley located on the right front under the alt. (left
side as viewed from the front) Insert a 1/2 inch ratchet or breaker
bar in the square hole on the arm and rotate to remove tension from
the belt and while holding it, slip the belt off the power steering
pump.

Matt! Will you pick up your TJ belt tensioner and waltz out to your V10
and see that it's exactly the same and in the same location? Maybe,
reach in there and pull on the belt and watch the tensioner pull back:
