Now you have one thousand and ONE uses for a dead cat.

On another cat note, this afternoon we went for a drive down on the
'bottoms' after it rained hoping to find a little mud to play in found
nothing but puddles and decided to try across the highway alongside the
river.
The entrance was blocked off by a couple of vehicles but when we stopped to
see if we could squeeze in I saw some movement in the brush.
It was a kitten, about 8 weeks old. Soaking wet from the thunderstorm, out
in the middle of nowhere. obviously had been dumped off.

I pointed it out to my daughter - mistake number one.
First I said "no stray critters" but the little thing looked pitiful.
Soaking wet, little and hungry.
I told her she would likely not be able to catch it - mistake number two.
She stepped out of the Jeep to go see if it could be captured, it saw her,
came bounding out of the brush and JUMPED into her arms and proceeded to
purr like a little motor.
Mistake number three - we brought it home and fed it because it's little
bones are sticking out so badly that it was likely very close to starving to
death.

Who the hell could dump out a little critter knowing it cannot survive and
knowing it would starve to death?
A gunny sack and a rock would have been more humane.
People are so stupid.

Tonight, she is going to the fair, the Humane Society has a booth there.
Kitten shall go with her, to hopefully find a new home. In the meanwhile, it
has crowded our full grown cat out of her dish and bed and there is some
concern from the other fur bearing member of the family.

Some concern from this ol momma too. Like I NEED or WANT another cat...
geeze!
I have ONE that's more than enough.

8 weeks) form the nuclei of feral cat colonies, which are semi-wild
critters wreaking unimaginable havoc with the ecosystem.

"Shoot, shovel, and shut up" is my motto when coming across unowned
domestic cats.
