I was reading this website..
http://www.ebroadcast.com.au/ecars/Jeep/MB/MB.html
and it was talking about the "F" markings.. According to the site, the "F"
(Ford Motor Company) was stamped on everything that Ford made for the
Jeep... and that the *****'s Overland was a MB and the Ford was known as a
GPW.. But other sites I read.. The Army wanted to make sure that both models
were interchangeable... So knowing how the military works (I work for a
Military Contract company) by the end of the war.. Most of the Jeeps were
probably a bastard child of both.. Ford GPW left fender with a *****'s
Overland right fender and so on..
