Did they make a bad run of panels?
I know there is a recall if the heater doesn't work on some because the
dash grounds come loose.
What are 'tree switches' and what part is actually bad?

argue the point but if you make them drill down in the parts catalog
you can replace just the 4 way switch and not the entire panel . About
14$ and an additional 5 minutes work.

I had a sharp parts fellow explain to me that I didn't need the whole
panel, just the switch. He then suggested I check it out in the
parking lot if I could. Sure enough it was bad right out of the box
and he got me another. It lasted about a year. I stopped at another
dealership to get one and the parts guy swore that the only way I
could replace it was to buy the whole panel. Only after some
significant prodding did he drill down and find out it wasn't
necessary. Needless to say I haven't gone back there for anything
else...
