Re: emission controles
I am in Ontario and on those engines, you only need what I have hooked
up. You need the PCV and canister for good running anyway and the hot
air intake is sure nice on those -40 days so the carb doesn't turn into
a block of ice. A BB in the line fixes the EGR nice....
There really isn't anything else on them that would be noticed in a
visual inspection if it was just plain missing....
I get great tailpipe readings and don't even need a CAT on the CJ's.

Re: emission controles
We used the BB trick on EGRs back in '78. Subsequent reading convinced me
that the EGR isn't such a bad idea. If you can get a new one at a decent
price, and can hook it up properly, I recommend it.
I spent about two years trying to find all the parts to make my '77 Bug's
EGR work. Finally, a company came out with reproductions for the exhaust
filter and plumbing, but the price was a killer. I left it blocked off.

Re: emission controles

except Cleveland/Akron and is exempting cars less than 4 years old there.
The $20 fee is to be paid with tobacco money.
