Go ahead and replace the shoes and cups, they do not survive when
the fluid gets hot enough to vaporize.

If they wont adjust, you might as well get new shoes, spring kits, and
adjuster kits on the way home. You can always return them if not needed.
I gave up fighting old adjusters, wire wheeling and greasing them and they
still jam in 6 months.

If they wont adjust, you might as well get new shoes, spring kits, and
adjuster kits on the way home. You can always return them if not needed.

adjuster kits on the way home. You can always return them if not needed.

Well it wasn't that bad we removed the drums cleaned out the mud that
was in there, adjusted them, and sanded the pads a little and now they
are better than they were before. I think that if maybe I had tried
backing up a bit more to get them to self-adjust before hitting the mud
they would have worked themselves out. Was actually amazing seeing that
the star wheels were free even though I had not touched them in the 1.5
years I have owned the Jeep.
Still have to replace the cable but atleast that is it.
