Re: Dana Corp files for bankruptcy
Bill, the people ARE the country. I found out when I was in Europe, that
there are people who have some pretty strong beliefs against what they
believe are our forms of government, economy, capitalism, etc. See
http://earlehorton.tripod.com/bologna/100_2485.JPG
http://earlehorton.tripod.com/bologna/100_2488.JPG
These same people tried to tell me that it was "nothing personal", this
antipathy they had towards our institutions. I explained that I was a
product of "capitalism" as they knew it, and that they were too! Who do
they think owns, operates, and enjoys the profits of all the MacDonalds and
Starbucks in Spain? Those people wear more Nike and drink more Coca-Cola
than we do! You cannot pretend to love your "friends", while hating their
institutions and their way of life. This is called "incongruency", and
sooner or later it will drive you crazy. (There are some in this forum who
might say that it already has done so in your case, nudge, nudge.)
If I didn't forgive Vietnam, Germany, Korea, Japan and the rest of them, I
would have to hate my VCR, my back pack, my car and my collection of Anime
cartoons too. I just can't bring myself to do it. It is better to forgive,
than to forget.
