Hi Matt,
See if you can get away with just tightening it up. We're supposed
to replace the nut, if we have to take it off, for a seal or whatever,
it may have just backed off. If it tightens with less than what you feel
is the crash strength, of something up around 200, than that's what
happen.

Worth a try. A member of my off-road club suggested this as well. Did you
mean "crush strength," in reference to the collapsible spacer? It moves a
tiny bit in and out, but more up/down/side/side.

Yup, like tapered bearings do, not a problem with front wheel
bearings, but tragic to ring and pinions.
