Re: Cracked header
You will not like JB Weld, more precisely, you will not like the SMELL of JB
Weld.
You have to get a new header. The new one has a bellows in it so when the
red hot exhaust meets the ice cold water, the sudden shrinkage has somewhere
to go without causing a break.

Re: Cracked header
Try looking here, http://www.4wdlinks.com/cgi-bin/links2/SuperLinks.cgi A
few years back I had the manifold on my XJ crack, turns out it was in 3
pieces (repair show still has the remains in their "trophy case". The
shop was originally going to weld it, but even though they had prior success
there was no guaranty that it would last a week. (which was fine as I was
going to smog testing the next day). They ended up replacing it with a
factory manifold they had sitting around from doing a header install. Its
has lasted over 5 years, if you get one from a bone yard just make sure to
inspect it well.
