Technically, that was Jeff that made the offer, not Jerry. Technically ;-)
I'm not sure, I have never done the math, but the mileage discrepancy he
thinks he has would not be explained by a gear change. The descrepancy is in
the right direction if the tires are large and the gears are still stock,
but his trouble is almost double what the odometer says, and the gear ratios
wouldn't account for this.
