confirm milerage
There is any way to onfirm if someone change the milerage on a TJ ´97??
It shows 58000 kilometers but I have doubts about the car having 133000 kms
instead.
Can I check some precint or something showing me that someone cheat the
counter?
Thank you in advance.

Re: confirm milerage
The only way is to get some repair receipts or inspection receipts on
the vehicle that shows the KM's when it was done.
Other than that, anyone can swap the speedometer head out of another
wrecked vehicle or even put a new one in that shows 0 again.
Why would you come up with such an odd number like 133000????

Re: confirm milerage
Depending on where you live and depending on what laws your state (or
province ) has for motor registration there are ways of finding out if the
mileage was rolled back.
If your in the States and your state motor vehicle bureau passes the mileage
info along to carfax, you can get that info via carfax (with an account)
If your in Canada, then most provincial license renewal forms have a section
for the vehicles mileage, also your province may also have a mandatory used
vehicles sellers package that will show the mileage the last time that
vehicle was plated in that province.
The biggest problem comes when your buy a used vehicle from another province
or State.

Re: confirm milerage
A CarFax Report might calm your nerves.
I recently spent some time in the Used Car Market looking for a car, and I
have access to CarFax data. Send me your VIN and I'll forward the report to
you.
