Agreed. I replaced a clutch once for a customer that described
something like this. By the time he got done having his internal clutch
problems he had a bent master cylinder push rod too. :o(

the clutch pedal so hard? Why did it feel normal once it started moving
again? And what would make it fail like that with no warning at all?
The Jeep was working normally right up until the clutch pedal got hard.

I HATE problems that show up with no warning!

OK, is there some why I can double check this before getting the Jeep
towed to the shop?

When the fork bends, you lose one half the leverage force from the pivot
