If cutting your dash is not an option, there are a number center consoles that have space for a stereo. Just make sure the stereo can handle the moisture content present in most CJs. My Scrambler switches to a bikini top in the summer, so after burning about about four radios (for the price of one - that'll teach 'em to sell me an extend warranty at Sears :), I went to Cabelas and bought a Kenwood marine radio. It's about five years old now, and has been through high water and rain. It rarely skips, even off road. The only problem is that the CD eject mechanism now sometimes needs a little help (not bad for its age and abuse). Marine radios costs quite a bit more than a feature equivalent non-marine stereo, but I'll never put a non-marine stereo in my Scrambler again. -- Michael White "To protect people from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools." -Herbert Spencer |
