CJ Jeep Radio Size?

Here's one for ya'. I got a '76 CJ-7 and want to put a radio in it.
(Okay, Bill I know "Real Jeep's don't have radios! Haha! Just gotta stir
the pot.)
But does anybody still make 'em? What's the style of radio head? Just
don't know what to search for on the net. I've got a radio from a Comet but
it's still too big and the only other box I got's a Roadmaster, which is
fine in terms of quality. Other than that, what'd you do for a stereo?
Drink

Hi James,
If you go fifty miles from nowhere like have to, here in Southern
California to go off road, you'll find the old AM radio will be the only
until that works. Try for a space under the seats.

My '81 CJ5 takes a standard size radio. I can't imagine your Jeep would take
anythng different.

Re: CJ Jeep Radio Size?

Bill! Are you serious?

1.) There are lots of radio opportunities around here. Even in the desert.
2.) He has a standard radio cut out in the dash for any of the off-the-shelf
head units on the market today.
3.) Assuming trouble getting a radio station in the middle of nowhere, it is
next to impossible to NOT find a radio today that is without a cassette or
CD.

I would NEVER put a radio where I could not see and operate the controls
EASILY.
