Cherokee seat removal help needed.
Well, the government jerks are insisting they are going to steal my 87
Cherokee because I haven't finished doing a needed engine swap to get it on the road, so I am going to strip it. It's a 4 door with working power windows if anyone in the Toronto Canada area wants parts. It has 4 of those 5 spoke Aluminum rims in decent enough shape. Got it boxed in real good right now... Had to call the cops on the government goons on Monday because they insisted they could go into my garage and steal 'all' it's contents like my camping and fishing gear, tools, Jeep parts, etc., because the door was broken open! The cops put a stop to that long enough to get the door half closed and chase the jerks off. I asked the cops if it was illegal to paint the one fingered salute on my garage door for the enjoyment of the new 32 story high rise that just went in across the street and they said no, it's legal, go ahead. :-) So enough ranting, I want the nice bucket seats out of the Cherokee for my CJ7. These are the 87 version of the manual adjust wrap around buckets and fit me nice. I can't bend well to get in there and spot all the fasteners and was hoping someone else knew if I could get the seat track off without unbolting the whole works from the floor. There are 'sort of' rusty nut stubs left on the bolts that go into the floor, but it is 'very' unlikely they will unbolt there. Any ideas? Re: Cherokee seat removal help needed.
Those four studs you see are probably the best and easiest way to
remove the seats. If you have a Dermel tool you can get your son out there to cut the studs off, then lift out the seats. I'd stop by and give you a hand but my ribs are a little cracked (snowboarding with the kids). If the dremel wont work then try a socket with big breaker bar and try snapping the studs by over tightening the nuts. Its too bad i got rid of my XJ last summer, I could have taken parts from both and made a decent shaped XJ. Snow... P.S. I'm waiting to see the "flip'n the bird" painted garage door too show up on City Pulse News :) |

I was going to plate this one, but it needs an engine and complete clutch system and our daily driver, the engine donor also needs a complete clutch system. We thought about it and figured it isn't worth putting $500.00 into either of these Jeeps for parts right now. We want to take that and buy one 'with' a working clutch and preferably intact rockers. Floors I can deal with... So I will be stripping a second one soon likely too.... Know anyone selling a Jeep? Mike |

I'd get me a shotgun with some double 00 buck shots and take care of them
government pricks when they break into the garage. Put no trespassing signs up.
