check engine light
hey everyone,
we just had a big rainstorm here and i decided to go and find some fun
with my tj... i went through a section of a dirt road that was flooded out,
i didnt have any problems getting through but on the other end my jeep
stalled, and then had trouble getting power for a few minutes. the check
engine light came on, and its still on now a few hours later... Tj runs fine
now, Is this something i should be worried about or will it just go away on
its own? thanks for any input

Re: check engine light
I'd be willing to bet that the light came on due to a misfire, caused
by the water. It will probably go out on it's own after a few days. If
not, disconnect the battery for a couple minutes, then hook it back
up. Should be gone then... if it comes back on again, might want to
pursue it further.
And for future reference, do not blast through flooded roads or other
bodies of water at high speeds like they do in the commercials. Crawl
through them slowly. :)
(At least I'm assuming you hit this flooded out section of road with
enough speed to cause a decent sized splash?)

Re: check engine light
i crawled my way through the first time because i wasnt sure how deep it was
or if it suddenly got really soft... but the 2nd time through it may have
looked like a commercial because i was feeling much more confident :) from
