What is the actual problem? Is the flasher not working at all, only some

the signal is flashing quickly which to i asume is a slowly deteriorating

the signal is flashing quickly which to i asume is a slowly deteriorating

That normally means one bulb is burned out or has a bad contact. Turn
on the signals and walk around the vehicle to see which bulb is out or which one flashes really dim. Then change that bulb.
