You might start by telling us what flavor of Jeep you have?

In 'real Jeeps' by sticking your left arm straight out the driver's side you
signal the intention to turn left. The arm bent upwards at the elbow indicated a right hand turn and the arm bent downward at the elbow shows your intent to stop. If this does not address your problem please provide more information.
