Go rob the bank and then sign up for the Jambo nearest you! =)
Like I said a while back, I still go to them. In fact I am heading up to the BC
Canada one this summer, and a neighbor of mine (the guy with the CJ) is coming along
too. Might even see a few other faces from the states that I know.

Re: Camp Jeep - has anyone here ever gone?
I had the opportunity to be a Trail Guide at the one and only Camp Jeep
held in California in 2004. Rather than difficulty ratings, the trails
should probably have had the ratings "mild, milder and mildest." A lot
of fun for those with little experience, but not much "real jeeping."
(Don't think I'm badmouthing DC for keeping it mild, as most of the
participants had little offroad experience and mostly stock jeeps, and
for them the trails had plenty of new challenges. I saw lots of
smiling faces and newfound enthusiasm for the sport of offroading.)
The "village" set up by Daimler Chrysler was interesting - displays of
concept vehicles, historical jeeps, chance to test drive the new
models, entertainment, etc., but not enough to keep you busy for more
than a day. Food and lodging were not included, and the on site food
was expensive. DC provided a list of nearby motels and campgrounds in
the registration packet.
I think your family might have more fun on a Jeep Jamboree. There will
be trails appropriate for your skill level and the capabilities of your
jeep. The event is more of an offroading experience than a
sales/marketing opportunity for DC, and the trail guides will work hard
to give you driving tips and get you through the trails you choose
successfully. Since food is included, I think you will find that the
cost is similar to what you will pay for Camp Jeep + food.
Whichever you choose, I am sure you will have a good time.
