brakes not working acting right on 1992 Jeep Wrangler 4.0
My brakes are not "acting" right. When i press on the brakes, they
engage just fine. My problem is when I take my foot off the brakes, the pedal does not come all the way back up. Do I need to bleed the brakes or do i have a more serious issue? Thanks in advance. |

Do your brake lights stay on?

Re: brakes not working acting right on 1992 Jeep Wrangler 4.0
I have a 96 Jeep Cherokee Limited. Normally I just leave the lights on
"auto" and they go out after a minute or so. Fortunately I was still outside when the lights went out, all except for the brake lights that is. I checked the brake pedal and it was all the back. Not really wanting to pull off a battery cable I went in the vehicle and pumped the brakes to see what would happen. The lights went off. Hmmm..... So now I'm wondering what actually causes this. Brake fluid reservoir looks full but the brake pedal seemed a little spongy. Other than that the brakes work fine. Any suggestions? "L.W.
