Cross posting is a real bummer. I really wish ISPs would run 2 newsgroup
servers - one where they filter out any message which is posted to more than
1 group, and the normal one, so that you can choose.

*Most* ISP's in most markets could really care less. Why would they?

You seriously think their going to cancel someone's account because
a few whinny little brats email them complaints about the posts one
of their users make in a newsgroup that -- belongs to -- no one.

Get real. It's not likely to happen, these companies just are not
going to go out of their way to loose users, which leads to a loss of
income for them, especially with how competitive the whole service
provider industry is. Why else do so many providers offer incentives
to sign up?

After all in just the community I live, not a large one at that there
is not one broadband provider but a half dozen all offering 1.5 to
5mbit connections either through cable or dsl along with several dial
up providers.. And then there's the satellite option on top of
that..

Have you read the agreement 'you' signed with Shaw?

Here is one part of it:

Messages posted to newsgroups must comply with the written charters or
Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQ’s”) for those newsgroups.

Found at http://secure.shaw.ca/

Do you want to see if they 'really' mean it or do you think they will
ignore their own rules?

LOL!

After Shaw and Rogers got slapped with denial of service suits from all
the other internet providers a couple years back, they started taking
their rules seriously.
