arg!
Well, nothing like finding a new puddle of antifreeze under
the jeep. :/ It seems when I replaced the radiator, and had to tighten up the lower transmission cooler line, the outer bit must have loosened up a touch. so there was antifreeze dripping out between the threads and the nut. Tighened it a bit more. Hope that fixes the problem. If it doesn't then the plastic tank might have gotten a crack. I HATE PLASTIC RADIATORS! Almost as much as I hate vehicles that have no workspace and require you remove the darn fan and shroud to get at the problem area. I want an engine compartment with enough room to sit down in. -- DougW |

Hi Doug,
Check to see if it's using the quick connect Mickey Mouse cheap crap the vehicles have switched to. That uses an O ring, that uses a tool like used on A/C lines, Like the red tool used on Fords with it connection to the right, pictured: http://www.fmsiinc.com/images/0320.jpg God Bless America, Bill 0|||||||0 mailto:-------------------- http://www.----------.com/ "DougW" <post.replies@invalid.address> wrote in message news:Cf7vh.137748$fh6.90423@newsfe13.lga... > Well, nothing like finding a new puddle of antifreeze under > the jeep. :/ It seems when I replaced the radiator, and > had to tighten up the lower transmission cooler line, the outer > bit must have loosened up a touch. so there was antifreeze > dripping out between the threads and the nut. I've bought brand new radiators that had existing cracks in the resin components. If it wasn't OEM, ...well, you know. I'd like to see radiators without top/bottom reservoirs (much like a heater core), with a pressurized coolant holding tank off to the side for easy filling and maintenance. And I'd also like to see a BRASS coolant petcock that is engine-block mounted too. Transmission fluid warmers/coolers should also be a seperate unit as well. |

That I could deal with easier. I'd probably should have called it a bulkhead fitting. Can't get a good picture of the location.. too tight. http://www.revbeergoggles.com/temp/leak.jpg This is a pic from when the atf fluid was leaking. I think when I tightended that up it started the other problem. Hard to say. It didn't leak till today. I think the ice and crappy roads vibrated it loose. The leak was only a small drip and the outer nut wasn't terribly tight. But man is that a pain to get at. Can't get there from underneath so you have to remove the fan and shroud. -- DougW |
