You have file copies. Usually the ones you copied to your Ipod.

Re: Anybody using an iPod yet?
I really like my iPod.
I've got a 3rd Generation, 20 GB iPod and the FM transmitter (iTrip). I
haven't "ripped" all of my CD's to the PC yet, but it's already amazing to
have access to a large % of my CD's. The iTunes software is nice because it
autmatically "updates" the iPod with anything new each time I plug it into
the computer.
The FM transmitter works fine for me (in fact, we now also take the iPod on
long trips in the SUV because a CD changer with "only" 6 CD's now seems like
a limitation!). I've heard that some people have problems with FM
interference, so the best option would be a direct connect, etc.

Yeah what he said. Your files are safe at home on your computer, as are
your CDs that you ripped to your player that likewise won't be getting
scratched, stolen, or damaged in any way. Many eggs, many baskets. Don't
be such a party pooper.

Re: Anybody using an iPod yet?
I have something like that on my Alpine head unit. It also uses the cd
changer connector. I'm using that for my Sirius tuner right now though.
Maybe i'll switch back to the Sirius' RF modulator and use it as an input
for the iPod instead.
