Was driving down the highway and heard a shearing sound. I lost
ability to move forward, although it will go in every gear. I t will
move in 4th gear which rules out a clutch problem. I think I might
have run the fluid out of it but am not sure, I haven't checked it
yet. Could it be a bent shifter fork or something else? What do u
think?
Thanks,
Frank

Ouch!
First thing is to check the fluid!
I ran mine out of fluid once and it started going BANG BANG BANG in
every gear really bad except 3rd so I limped it 20 miles out of the bush
in a snowstorm at 9 pm on New Years Eve, got a local place to open up,
filled it with gear oil, drove 50 miles back to the bush camp we were at
and am still driving it 8 years later.
I put all new seals in it shortly after....
Do 'not' use GL5 fluid, you need GL4.
Once you have fluid in it, then see what happens....
