Mike is trying to explain (I think) that it sounds like there should be a
TUBE WASHER of a fixed length behind one of or both of the bolts to set the
correct depth of the alternator. I had a 69 firebird that used these. Does
that make any sense??????

These are spacers. Shims are flat. I used that wrong word that you are
'correcting' but snipped for some strange reason.
You don't know enough to start correcting my posts bud, so unless you
want me to be on your *** for every dumb thing you have posted, back
