98 Wrangler Differential Identification
Before I purchase the Wrangler and moved it south, it was in snow (salt).
The differential covers are rusted and need to be replaced. I keep getting
asked what front and rear differentials I have. HOW DO I IDENTIFY THEM???
I see a tag on them, but the numbers are cryptic. A translation please?
HELP! Thanks.

Re: 98 Wrangler Differential Identification
The only reason I can think to replace a diff cover is if it is cracked,
torn, or rusted THROUGH, which is unlikely given the heavy gauge of the
steel used.
Save yourself some jack and head over to http://www.por15.com and get a
small kit. Follow the instructions, topcoat with the color of your choice.
Repeat on all other rusted surfaces of the Jeep.

The chart you found is as easy to read as the one I have
bookmarked.
