93 ZJ V8 - "clung" sound and vibration
Hi Folks,
Please give me a hand in analysing this problem.
1, The symptom never happen when the driving speed is less than 80 km/h,
2, The symptom will be triggered when driving @ 80km/h over a slightly
uneven road (bridge deck etc.),
3, The sympton is a series of "clung" sound that varies in direct
proportion to the driving speed. i.e. The slower the speed the less frequent
is the "clung",
4, The Jeep also seems to get pull to the right hand side of the road, (I
need to steer it back)
4, The "clung" sound (and vibration) is similar to driving over a road
repair steel plate at the 1st second. The only different is that this
"clung" is continuous until the Jeep stops.
5, When the symptom appears, It makes no different if I shift the gear
into neutral.
6, After the Jeep come to a stop (the engine is still running), I can
drive away immediately without the "clung",
7, Yet, the symptom will come back if the condition outlined in item 2 is
met,
My mechanic confirmed that all fluid levels are OK. A visual check, after
hoisting it, found nothing.
2 months ago, the U-joint was replaced. Last month, the only service was
replacing the front tires with the original spare tires from my 2 93ZJs.
(same brand and model tires)
