I'd try to fix the problem as to why it's not starting. Mostly
because I had an old Austin Healy with the side draft carburetors that
one of the slide was stuck open, that sucker went to twelve grand and
exploded so quick. The only place I'd use it is if gasoline was puddled
in the intake manifold, from severe flooding, fouling the spark plugs.

Sure it would, especially if the starter bypass wasn't making a
connection. What happens when you battery jump it, spinning the engine
twice as fast with a hotter spark.

Sure it would, especially if the starter bypass wasn't making a
connection. What happens when you battery jump it, spinning the engine
twice as fast with a hotter spark.

If the starter spins fast enough and you get no firing, is either
fuel or spark. Unless it stops right away in which case wrong
oil weight is another suspect.

You mention a miss even when warm... that would be worth getting
rid of as that engine should never do that.
