4.0?!?!
I bought a 2003 TJ a few weeks back -- and have taken it out on the
highway a few times.. I have to say the 4.0 has lots of get up and go
for city driving -- but on the highway -- what happened?!?! It's
great up until 100Kms (65miles) ish but after that it seems to really
have problems -- it's a chore to keep it at 120 in 5th gear and come
any real hill it's pretty pethetic even gearing down to 4th or even
3rd..
Is it just my jeep or is this a common thing -- does this motor really
suck that bad on the highway??

Re: 4.0?!?!
you have to remember how much a Jeep weighs (4000 lbs) and that it is a big
box going through the air.

Hi Chris,
You do have the six cylinder, right? Because you're describing the
four cylinder, with oversized tires.

Re: 4.0?!?!
We could get one up to 120 mph with a blown rat motor, but keeping it in
a straight line and right side up might be more of a concern.

Re: 4.0?!?!
If you have the 3.07 ratio run in 4th and it will be plenty quick.
