2 stroke gas in a 2.5 TJ?
Ok, so with gas prices through the roof I'm eyeing all my premixed
snowmobile, chainsaw, and outboard gas sitting in the garage and figure
what the heck. My question is, if I dilute it by only adding a gallon or
2 and then top off the tank with regular gas will it hurt anything? I've
heard rumor that it can potentially screw up some sensors?

Two cycle oil is many times more expensive than gasoline.

Don't do it. To save $3, you'd risk screwing up your engine and/or its
sensors with 50:1?

If diluted with a nearly full tank of fresh gas, pre-mix will NOT
screw up anything in your engine. A 50:1 mix represents only a tiny
amount of oil - less than 1 ounce per gallon of pre-mix. I have done
this for decades with no ill results. I also dispose of slightly stale
fuel in the same manner.
Don't put in more than a gallon or two of premix into your small TJ
tank.
