I don't know about that Earle. Our 88 has a replacement 'Jeep' brand
radio also doing the same thing, same for our 87. New antenna also.
I don't think they can make a decent FM radio. The AM works fine.

A friend had a car that had weird radio problems so I just ran all new wires
for everything, speakers, power, etc. Then again it was an aftermarket
radio
