It's called precident. The precident has been set that marriage is a
fundamental civil right, which is protected by the 14th Amendment.

Sterile people can get married. Prisoners on death row can get
married. People in their 90s can get married. In three states you can
marry a 12 year old girl with her parent's permission. Tell me,
specifically, how same---- marriage will harm the institution of
marriage?

Excuse me? It's the right-wingers who claim that being gay is an
illness. Being gay is some sort of genetic difference, or other form
of variant like being left handed.

churches, and gnash your teeth at every mention of a gay man oe woman.
But you cannot enshrine your hatred in law.
