Starting issue
I am kind of upset with myself that I didn't post earlier. Reason was I would have only been posting with good news. I have had my 09 Liberty since Aug 2010, had a tow hitch installed and treated it to new tires a couple of months later. Been really happy with it until last Saturday. I had a few hours worth of errands, and at my first stop, when I opened the door, the warning bells sounded like I still had my key in the ignition. I stared at my hand with the key in it, and my lights are set to auto, so it wasn't that I left my lights on.
Shrugged my shoulders and continued to the store. When I tried to leave, my Jeep wouldn't start. Dash lights, radio, heater, etc came on, but the car wouldn't even try to turn over. No clicking, nothing.
The problem lights that came on were the caution (but that did go out in about 15 seconds) my tire inflation monitor which kept blinking (the new tires have been on since the first week of October, and they were fine), and the engine malfunction lite which stayed on.
I ended up getting a tow to the dealership for free because it was still under warranty, and the guy was nice enough to take my dog, in the front of his truck. But what a hassle. And without any warning.
Today the dealership told me that it is a wireless control module that they need to replace. ETA on the part, noon tomorrow, so I wouldn't be getting it back till tomorrow afternoon at the soonest. I have been doing a lot of reading on the net, and not so much with Jeeps, but other vehicles, usually their issues were not resolved with this part being replaced. Many people had issues for weeks. I hope I won't be one of them. I'll let everyone know what the outcome is, and if it stay's resolved. I would hate to be paying for this after warranty. But for now, it should be covered.
The worse thing was it happened without warning. And what if I was out of town? Could it happen while I am driving? Another scary thing.
I want to go back to an age without all this electronic BS on a vehicle. Gosh I am sounding like my Dad. lol

Re: Starting issue
Not a promising reply but there have been allot of weird things happening in the new jk's, which well everything is electronic this and that. Something to think about too when ur going offroad and want to air down with those pressure senors, how does one get it down to say 10-15 lbs without all the lights and chimes going off? Since urs is still under warrantee it would be nice to know what Chrysler has to say.."Trail Rated". Thats a joke for sure.

Re: Starting issue
I am so glad I bought an really low k 2004 without all this TPMS and traction control/ABS CRAPOLA!
I am getting tired of just listening to all the owners with the TPMS problemos. I feel 4 ya.
Chimes dings and things-go-away!
Ah ,I can air down my tires where they are all the same and not worry about it.
I can manually shift my transfer case. I can install a real locker.
I can power out of a mud hole, and not have computers limit my ability and power when it thinks I am on an angle or out of control.
Some ideas are good, TPMS just is not one of them, unless you are the dealer ship$$$$!!!!
