Re: wrangler water leaks

My carpets were replaced once already as they smelled completely like mould; my dealer has agreed to replace the carpets again once the leak is found and fixed.

On that note, does anyone have any suggestions / clues as to what's causing the driver side carpet to get soaked? Could this be caused by anything else other than roof leaks?

When its raining water will drip from the roof to the carpet when the door is opened. Doing it often can result in a wet carpet

I hear you sinjans, however, it's consistently on the driver side and never on the passenger side. Furthermore, it never seems to dry on the driver's side. This tells me that water must be coming in from somewhere other than just opening the door.

Those freedom panels can be pesky too. also the door seals can be a B

Yea the freedom panels are a B. My dealer has ordered new ones for my jeep as a potential solution (since redoing the seals numerous times has not helped) and it appears that my freedom panels don't sit flush to one another or with the roof. When you compare them to other jeeps mine just look "off".

Re: wrangler water leaks

I have a 2010 and it leaked from the day I got it, looked closer and noticed that it was probably leaking on the lot even. Mine was leaking from the hardtop panels so I got some silicon lubricant spray and cleaned all the rubber and it hasn't leaked since. Make sure to spray all the seals and wipe it off afterwards. Use a silicon spray as it won't eat the seals and may even protect them. Be sure to tighten down the top as much as you can too, makes a big difference.

Hope this works for you because it sure made my day.

@Starcat your solution seems too simple. My Jeep has leaked from the hardtop as well since day one (and before on the lot as the carpet was mouldy) and it's been @ the dealer 4 times now for waterproofing and it still leaks.

Sometimes simple works best ;) I know a couple of others who have done this and it worked for them too. The silicon swells the seals and makes them work better. Mine got dusty after a run with the top off and even tightened down hard they leaked. Cleaned them and no problems.
