Guys a little help here.....have seen the chrome inserts with honeycomb....has anyone "screened" in their rad?

Went to Rona and got a package of rain gutter protectors (10.00 for 6 pieces 6"x 36" of diamond shape aluminium) and made my own. Works great at keeping the bugs and rocks out of the rad.

Cdn Tire used to sell the winter/summer front for the yj's but of course a good item is always stopped. Now u can buy an expensive front from your local 4by4 store or go as the above person mentioned. I took an old screen (plastic) and cut it to what I wanted and have that between the grill and rad..

anybody have pictures of their creations? Same idea I was heading towards,but of coarse i am VERY picky and EVERYTHING has to look like factory.

Sounds like a good idea !!

The parts guys at my dealer ( Crosstown) said they have " someone" working on a perforated aluminium plate that will fit behind the grille on my jeep ( perhaps all Jeeps, I think.) I'll keep in touch with them and see.

I use the condenser to protect the rad, LOL!

Sorry for the slow reply been on holidays for the last few weeks. They have a bit more shing when clean, they've been on for close to 2 years now. I'll be painting them with POR-15 when I re-do my light bar and tire carrier. They are really good at turning large bugs into small bug parts that wash out of the rad/ condenser easily and for the price of material I've got no complaints.

Thanks a lot for the link. Looks like I could handle doing that mod no probs. I've already had to take my grille off before to put the hoodlock on, so no worries.
