Default Parts advice

I have ordered a 2012 Sahara Unlimited (my first Jeep) and I am looking for advice on aftermarket parts. I am considering "blacking it out" and I am looking at the Pro Comp Series 7069 rims.

1) Does anyone have these rims and if so did you go with 16" or 17" and what size and brand of tires did you mount on them? (I am considering a 1 1/2" to 2" spacer lift and a set of aggressive looking tires).

2) Can anyone recommend a good set of inexpensive rock rails and tail lamp guards?

3) Does anyone know where you can get black lenses for the tail lamps?

4) Any other recommended parts?

1- 7069's are hard to come by, so we ordered Level 8 Trackers for my daughters Jeep. They look very similar.
We mounted 35x12.50x17 Pitbull Rockers on these rims.
2- Rugged Ridge rock rails are a good price..
3- Don't know of anyone that sells black taillight lenses..
4- Husky liners (floor mats), auxillary lights,

Rugged Ridge, black locking gas hatch cover...looks good and slows down gas thieves and vandals.

I would suggest the plane black door w/o lock and a locking cap. In winter water gets in that lock and its a B to get open at least the locking cap is protected.

FYI siphoning is impossible with the anti flow back valve but the locking cap will deter vandals from trying to put crap in your tank..

Ad to the list

- Programmer
- Grille inserts
- bug deflector
- tint strip at the top of the windsheild

I saw a Jeep that was blacked out once... The guy used spray on window tinting to black out all of the light lenses - side markers and all. Sounds like a very easy and inexpensive route.

Jeff, I agree the locks will freeze up. I've even had my lockable inside gas cap (with a cover on it) freeze as well. I hoped the external lock might be easier to defrost? I wasn't aware that you can't syphon out of those tanks.Thats good as long as it isn't me that needs the gas! I also like the black R. Ridge billet steel inserts. Easy to install and should prevent any radiator damage from flying objects. Just got my bug deflector today.

Grille inserts saved my sons Rad last year. He took a good hit but the mesh he had did its job..
Bug deflector will protect the front of the hood and helps with the bottom section of the windshield as it stops rocks from bouncing off the hood and hitting the windshield under the wipers which seems to be a very common place for cracks to start..

Rampage do a great Euro Light Guard kit, 6pcs, headlights, turnsignals and side markers. The price is good compared to buying others individually. Just Jeeps in Toronto carry them and will save you the customs duty etc.
