Default oil vanishing

i have this common problem that my jk is eating oil at a rapid rate, no leaks and no obvious signs of burning oil. any one else here have this issue and how are they dealing with chrysler about it. iv just started to address this with the dealership and so far their back stepping big time. my oil pressure light came on and this is how i found out about it i wonder if my engine has already sustained damage from running so low. any thoughts?

YEIKS!!! This is the first motor swap I've heard of.

I've been following this topic very closely on other forums, and it sounds as many (many) early JKs have this issue 07/08...not sure on 09's. Finger is pointing to pistons rings not installed correctly, no news on a batch or lot of motors to narrow it down yet.

Ahhh. Upsetting to say the least.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again....lift the hood check your oil on a regular basis (every fuel fill up) don't get complacent and just wait for the oil change time to come around. It takes just a few minutes out of your day.

I have not noticed any oil consumption yet...08 JKU with 41K on the clock.

yup still under warrany, but chrysler states its acceptable to consume 1 - 1.5ltr per 1000km. their sticking by this clause and clearly told me they wont replace the motor as im not consuming over this amount. my wife is was so fed up and disgusted with them after what we spent she pulled the plug. she bought a kia and couldn't be happier. it kills me to write this as im a jeep fan for life. i think ill buy a jk still but it will be used and my buddy said he can swap the motor with something better. good luck with your fight i honestly cant say you will win with them but i hope the best for you
