Not a door virgin anymore!!!
Well it was my first time with the doors off, man it seemed a little weird at first, had a great long weekend cruising around with my girl in the back, she loved it. And not to worry she was harnessed in, some folks looked concerned. Man can't wait for the 2.5 and new 35's

Re: Not a door virgin anymore!!!
I saw a bunch of jeeps driving around with the doors off last weekend and noticed something. None of them installed the mirror relocation brackets. Aren't you guys worried about getting a ticket? After all, it is illegal to drive without the side mirrors on the vehicle. That is the only thing keeping me from taking my doors off right now.

Thanks guys, ya it was a blast, I will defiantly try out that lithium grease, the front doors came off easy but the rear ones were a bitch. As for the mirrors ya I took a chance, but out here in NB the fuzz is really scarce, but I saw some neat mirrors at just jeeps I will be getting, safer for me and others to have them.

Re: Not a door virgin anymore!!!
i bought a cheapo bike mirror at canadian tire for 5$. slipped right into the door hinge. u only need a driver side one by law. on my 95 i never had mirrors with the doors off. cops never bothered. bigger fish to fry i suppose

Re: Not a door virgin anymore!!!
I have the relocation bracket on mine and to be honest, the big disadvantage about it is that with the doors on, you barely see the passenger side mirror. Even with the doors off, it is not perfect. For me it is no big deal but my wife would not drive it like that... no big deal either... lol!! It is a good idea to add smaller cheap mirror in the doors hinge like mowin_nolan said.

According to the Ontario HTA:
Windshield wiper, mirror
66. (1) Every motor vehicle other than a motorcycle shall be equipped with,
(a) a device for cleaning rain, snow and other moisture from the windshield so constructed as to be controlled or operated by the driver;
(b) a mirror or mirrors securely attached to the vehicle and placed in such a position as to afford the driver a clearly reflected view of the roadway in the rear, or of any vehicle approaching from the rear. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 66 (1).
You only require 1 mirror, so as long as your rear view mirror is clear and not restricted by cargo, you are in compliance. Alberta is the same way.
