I went from getting 350-375 kms to a tank to 550-600kms to a tank.
performance wise i didn't notice any more power but the transmission shift points were raised up the rpm range. This makes the jeep drive way better and the tranny isn't always kicking in and out of overdrive and hunting for the right gear to compensate for the 35's.

Wow. Had I beleived the rubi would be that efficient I would have given one a second thought. My 2010 Sahara Unlimited hits about 620hwy (550city). Mine is 3:21. I'm thinking changing over to 3:73 if it's not too much of a hassle. Should I expect a significant increase in gas consumption? I wanna do some towing next year. If this is the wrong place to ask I apologize. Also wondering how much is involved with changing gears. I'm a little green here. thanks

Wow on my 2009 Sahara with 3.73 and 35s I'm lucky if I get 300kms out a full tank of gas! Although the way the gas tank has been taking hits this year its probably a bit smaller than the rest of yours lol. Oh well its my Jeep and I love it and I have a good job so I dont really care how much gas I have to put into her :D

Well, mine is 60L. and it hasn't taken any hit yet. probably some to come, but that under platting might have a thing to say about that.

I've got a Rubicon and at approx. 4500 lbs. and 4.10 gears I knew it wasn't going to be eco
friendly...but try going out and hugging a tree in a forest with a Prius! 20 mpg (US gal) driving combination hwy and city. Put your foot into it and you can watch the fuel gauge
go down like the Titanic.

Have a look at my previous post, since the JK is my wifes daily diver, I've yet to get a sense of how many K's per tank. But I do track the eco meter, and I'm getting that 22 to 23 MPG, or aprox 9 L/100. Again, that's hwy driving....seen it jump up to average of 13 L/100 in the city.

Re-gearing is a big job, and since both the front and real axles are geared the same, you will need to do both of them. The diff cover is removed, the carrier is removed from the axle. If you are re-using (I think you should be able to) exisitng differential and not upgrading to a Limited Slip (aka Track Loc) or some kind of locker, the ring is removed and your new 'gear set' is installed. Re-install and top up with fresh axle lube. Repeat on the front.

Your computer will need to be re-programing since your axle is shaft is now making more revolutions (3.73 : 1 vs 3.21:1)

That's kind of a high level view.

Good luck

You've gotta remember that the Rubicon has a bigger fuel tank.
