Clutch replacement cost?

Clutch replacement cost?
So I am fairly certain my room mate burned out the clutch in my Jeep, as now when I am accelerating and letting off the clutch the tires seem to "spin out" a bit. He said it smelled funny when he got out of the car so yeah, it's fried.
Anyone have a rough idea of what this is going to cost me?

Re: Clutch replacement cost?
To answer your question it is approximately $500 - $700 to replace your clutch depending on parts and where you take it to. Put in an aftermarket clutch such as Luk or Centerforce and don't go to the dealer. It's not a little job. The whole transfer case and clutch have to be removed from the jeep and they may even have to send your flywheel out for resurfacing if it's been damaged.

I agree with Rog. Before you have any work done, test as suggested. The clutch can get hot and smell if overworked.
You have a 2012 Jeep. Clutch should not burn out that easy and if you can spin the tires, probably not trashed.
If it was toast, the revs would go high and Jeep would not go anywhere! Probably vibrate a lot too.
