want to take pieceof **** 249 out and put a 231 the 249is in a 97 grand 318 auto and the231 one came with and the other came out of 94 xj 4.0 auto how hard is it to do thks

Won't be hard but you'll probably need new diff yokes and driveshafts to go along with the 231. A little playing around to get the linkage hook up, probably a good day and it's done.
