Canada grand not starting, sputtering, shaking.

Hey guys maybe you can help me out. My '93 gr cherokee 4.0 L doesn't want to start up sometimes after its warm. Its turns over fine there is spark, there is fuel in the gas line and pressure. Actually it starts then progressively idles worst and not being able to accelerate then stalls and no start. If I let it sit for a while half an hour and cycle the key it will usually fire right up. I replaced the O2 sensor, the idle control motor, and the coil as well as the rotor and cap last year. Do you guys think its the fuel pump? Help me please.

Could be a cracked or loose connected vacuum line (look for this first) or cud be a dirty fuel filter. Tell us how u make out on the vacuum lines. Some else had a similar problem on here and just tring to remember what forum I saw it. If I find it i will get back to u.

Thanks I changed the fuel filter also it was plugged almost solid. Wonder if it took out the pump.

Had a peek at the air filter? Once I had a Saturn with a plugged up cat converter. It would act strange as well. Might want to check out the MAF sensor as well. Maybe see if there's any error codes in the computer.

I live in the windsor ON area and am interested in taking my family to a jamboree this year, as close to home as possible and I am wondering how to get a calender of events?

Another thing that may be causing you trouble is one of your O2 sensors...

Have you checked the codes?, that should give you a starting point but it sounds like it might be a fuel injector misfire.

Ya thanks I flashed the codes manually with the key and it gave me a code 12. It does have a rough annoying idle that I can't seem to get rid of. It smooths out and drivesgreat.
