Front drive shaft 2000 WJ
I recently purchased a 2000 WJ with a 2" Budget lift. The front drive shaft was only a month old and after driving the Jeep for 3 days it went again. It was the CV type shaft. Is this because of the lift? I am in the process of having a U-joint type shaft fabbed up for it. Does anyone know if this will help?
The lift should not cause any problems at only 2".
Did you notice any funny vibration before it "went"?
Was this a new or rebuilt shaft? Perhaps the person who overhauled or installed did so incorrectly...

The mechanic who pulled it out said it was never bolted to the front diff yoke properly. I did not notice anything before it went but was informed by a Jeep mechanic that the CV type has no tolerance for a lift, even if it is only 2". I was hoping to get a 2nd opinion on that. Thank you for your input. I have heard from several people that 2" shouldn't make any difference whatsoever and am starting to lean toward that opinion.
Yeah, 2" really won't have an effect...an improper install, however, will.
Forgetting to torque things is a huge cause of mechanical problems in most things
Just try not to think about that next time you fly...;)

its your driveshaft, i tried to get a 2 inch lift on my 2000 jeep grand cherokee limited, but was advised that i would have to change my driveshaft and yokes (repezza style driveshaft cant handle even a two inch lift and would vibrate and eventually break, replaced my cv twice already,
