drive shaft vibration
On my 97 Grand Cherokee the front drive shaft went so I've got a new one made from Spicer parts, double cardan at TC end and single u-joint at diff. end. When it was installed and I get onto the highway and I get up to 100k and faster there's a very noticeable vibration, if the drive shaft is removed and I do 100k no vibration, when it's re-installed - vibration! Anybody have any thoughts on this.
it needs to get balanced, some people have had success with a worm drive clamp being put on the driveshaft and spinning it around the driveshaft until the vibration goes away...
but if the driveshaft wasn't alighned properly and is off too much, you'd probably have to get it onto a driveshaft balancer and it'll tell you where and how much weight to add...

It's a brand new drive shaft and was balanced before it was installed, after I complained about it they took it out and re-balanced it, when it's not in the jeep things are fine but when they put it back in the vibrations are there, especially after 100k. The shop ordered a OEM replacement shaft and when it gets here they'll install it to see if it's the new driveshaft or something on the jeep. Just thought I'd ask around to see if anybody else has had the same type of problem.
