Question Custom Laredo vs. Limited Model

One of my friends visited from California in his 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. I was very impressed with what he had done to his Laredo. He had after-market leather seats, took out the basic radio and put in high end stereo (with Nav), installed rear and front sensors, lifted his Jeep and got a different tires and rims, to name a few changes. Best part is that it cost him less than $5,000. So he still saved lot of money since at first he was considering Limited or Overland.

I shouldn’t have looked at his Jeep since I was so close to buying an Overland. Now I am double minded if I should do the same thing: Buy Laredo and have after-market products. It will still be a Jeep at the end of the day plus I would save thousands. What do you guys think? Good or bad idea or no comparison?

basically with the limited you get the bells and whistles on the interior from the get go... and exterior accents... so if your not planning on upgrading the seats, and dont care for some of the external accents (trim and cladding)
i personally would get the Laredo and fix it up... the guts for the most part are going to be the same...

same thing if i were to buy a rubicon jeep, it would end up removing most of the parts that make it a rubicon lol... it would be easier to buy the one part of a rubicon (the 4:1 transfercase) and install it in a base model jeep...
