Exclamation 2000 4.7 engine swap = fun

so here's the deal, i've got a 2000 grand cherokee with a blown headgasket, well somewhat anyhow, long story.... it's a 4.7, i've picked up another motor and tranny for a sweet deal, but it's out of a 2003, noticed a few things like different intake manifold, but i can just re-use mine with new gaskets. the guy i bought it from said the motor wil jus drop right in and work,
both jeeps are limited edition editions, just the years are different. and they both say 4.7 v8 powertech.
i heard from someone that if i bought the 4.7 HO edition that it would not work, as the HO edition has knock sensors and the non HO don't.
i just figured that i should get a second opinion. what do ya guys think??
did i waste my time buying that motor?? because coming spring time, its gunna become project grand cherokee for me.

Check out www.wjjeeps.com for info on the difference between the 2 motors. It is do-able but you may need to get the PCM out of the donor vehicle to make sure you have all the hookups and proper programming.
