Hahaha for sure. It's pretty funny how many of my friends bug me about my preparedness.. Then when we're stuck in the woods or camping who do they come to for food and fire! Lol

This is pretty left field. Never really factored in a post apocalyptic environment in my decision making when shopping for my Wrangler.

So for mods... I dunno... Maybe a gatling gun or something that goes boom? (does that void the warranty?)

Make fun if you like, but it's good to be prepared sometimes. Not saying buy a bunker just saying it's good to have a plan even if it's only little. Could be something as big as solar flare, asteroid or a nuke. Or as small as a flood or other weather phenomena, the flood Toronto had not that long ago happend. Alot of cars got stuck and hydro locked, having a snorkel would have been very usful. So that's a good basic prep to look into.

I didn't mean to poke fun and meant no offense. I just never thought of this type of scenario before. This topic has made me start researching survivalism in the Canadian wilderness. It is good to be prepared for anything.

If you ever end up being stuck somewhere out of civilization, check this list for viable food sources. http://www.pawgi.org/resources/guide...ood_Canada.pdf

Thats a good PDF to keep around for sure, I like to keep alternate ways of producing fire with me also. Used to have a flint stick but I found out that steel wool catches on fire when you touch it with a battery, or any electrical source. So I will be keeping a small amount of steel wool with me.

Good knife, rope and duct tape go a long way also.

anyone who thinks that they shouldn't be prepping needs to shake their head. one should have at least a 3 month supply of food & water for every member of their house. meds too. if the SHTF, remember the grocery stores will be EMPTY within 72 hours. what will you do then?

I'll be hitting a Canadian Tire on my way out of the city that's for sure. I don't need to stock up on food from a grocery store, tools are more important to me. Equipment i can use to get food is more valuable then food itself.

i can be loaded up and out the door within 15 minutes should the need arise. my golden rule for preparedness is EVERYTHING in my bag must have at least 2 uses or it doesn't go in the bag.

within a few hours i can basically disappear and be self reliant for at least 2 months. hopefully that would be enough time for the dust to settle. the city is the last place i would want to be in an emergency situation.

Sounds like your very fortunate.

Unfortunately I don't have a choice, as I only work 24 hours a week and only a few bucks over minimum wage for my hourly. (not by choice) So if I had the choice I would have my own property out of the city and would have a stock pile of tools but I need a better job for that haha.

I like your idea, if you can't use it for more then one thing it's not worth bringing.
